Design Statement:
[title of show] is a musical about two guys writing a musical about two guys writing a musical. The whole concept of the show is very meta and involves the characters breaking the fourth wall to address the audience. The show takes place mainly in two separate apartments, so I used a mixture of warm and cool tones to create the feeling of indoor lighting. My color palette consisted of warm saturate colors. My design moved the lighting along to fit with the dramatic tension and plot of the show. It started with brighter colors for the opening, then moved to darker colors as the plot became more serious, and finally ended on calm and lighthearted for the finale and the resolution of the plot.
